Phil Mcnulty Journalistic Hero
Phil McNulty is my journalistic hero this is because he writes in a subject area i would very like to be in what is the world of sport mainly football. In his writing he covers anything from breaking news in the premier league to world cup's, euro championships, champion's league and south american football what i am most fond of. He is the sports chief off bbc sport and has been for a fair few year's. He is my journalistic hero because he went from a basic journalist interested in football and built himself up into the sports chief writer now with out losing any passion for his writing or his subject. Sport is an area of journalism i would love to be involved in, the travelling to different part's , the seeing of different people playing the same game but in so many different ways and in so many different surroundings sounds like an amazing prospect to me. He's writing is informal and opinionated but with out going into the area of being bias, it is laced with flair and passion for what his writing as you can see from his early work till today it hasn't changed maybe even got better. This is great credit to a writer not having to change his style at all through the different era's has worked show's how much his work is valued and recognised. I would say that he is one of the best sports journalist's i read and i have never been let down by his writing or his ability to if someone has a different opinion to him take points from both side's and then back his side with fact after fact to defend his writing . He does this in a non arogant selfish way but with knowledge and understanding. So overall i would say phil is my journalistic hero because of he's ability to keep he's head down and climb the job ladder, his flair and passion for his subject, how much he is respected and valued in his field and most of all for his general way of always writing an interesting piece no matter what the subject.
